Elena Tarasenko (Janitska) age 87, of North Haledon died Monday, July 21, 2008.
Mrs. Tarasenko was born March 15, 1921 in the Ukraine , the daughter of the late Martin and the late Valentina (Zielinski) Janitska. She came to the United States in 1957 and settled in Paterson, NJ before moving to North Haledon in 1965.
She retired from Universal Manufacturing, Paterson, NJ in 1986 where she worked for 29 years.
Mrs. Tarasenko was a member of St. Michael's R.O. Cathedral, Paterson, NJ
She was predeceased by her husband Mykola Tarasenko and a sister, Stanislava Pestonjuk.
She is survived by one daughter: Irene Petrovic and her husband Aleks of North Haledon, NJ and one son: Eugene Nemkin of North Haledon, NJ, her grandchildren; Elena Baltodano and her husband Carlos of Avenel, NJ and Branka Petrovic of Lodi, NJ and a sister Antonina Balan.
The funeral Liturgy will be Thursday at 9:00 am at St. Michael's R.O. Cathedral, 52 Sherman Avenue, Paterson, NJ. Panahida will be on Wednesday evening at 7 PM at the church.
Burial will be in Novo DiVeevo Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY.
