Obituary of Aldo Cestra

Aldo Cestra, age 93, of died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. Aldo was born October 28, 1923. He is the son of the late Natale and the late Dolcissima (Cestra) Cestra.
He came to the US in 1940 at 16 1/2 by ship from Giglio, Frosione, Italy and arrived in New York to meet his father and start his life. He moved to Paterson and a few years later he met and married his love, Laura Fiorenzo. They moved and has resided in Haledon, since 1971.
He love his family and his grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to him. He also loved sports and was a big fan of the Yankees and the Giants.
He worked as a Top Presser in the Garment Industry for over 50 years in Paterson and Passaic, retiring from E&S Sportswear.
He is survived by two daughters: Cathy Cestra-Nadzan of Wyckoff, NJ and Diane Wehner and her husband Jack of Totowa, NJ and one son: Allen Cestra and his wife Brenda of Lake Hopatcong, NJ. He is also survived by his sister; Santina Cestra, his brother: Renato Cestra, his grandchildren; Allen Cestra, Shaun Cestra, Matthew Cestra, Brendan Cestra, Cyle Nadzan, six great grandchildren, his god daughter; Tina Giraldi and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Laura Cestra (nee Fiorenzo).
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 19 at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 286 Haledon Avenue, Prospect Park, NJ with Monsignor Edward Kurtyka officiating. Burial will be in Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday, April 18 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ.
