Obituary of Joseph V. Roca

Joseph V. Roca, age 87, of North Haledon died Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital in Wayne, NJ. Joseph was born January 11, 1928 in Paterson, NJ. He is the son of the late Pellegrino and the late Margaret (Damiano) Roca. He served in the Army Air Corps during the Korean war. He was a Deputy Chief for the City of Paterson Fire Department where he worked for 34 years and retired in 1990. He was a member of F.M.B.A. Local No. 2. He was a parishioner of St. Paul's R.C. Church in Prospect Park, NJ. He is survived by his wife: Mary (Rea) Roca, his two sons: William Roca and his wife Barbara of Wayne, NJ, Rande Roca and his wife Dara of Mahwah, NJ, his six grandchildren: Samuel Roca, Jacob Roca, Sarah Roca, Christian Roca, Dominic Roca and Alena Roca. He was predeceased by his daughters, Wendy and Deborah Roca, his brother Carmen Roca and his sister Jean Malvano. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Friday, March 13 at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 286 Haledon Avenue, Prospect Park, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 12 from 3-7 PM.
