Obituary of John Hack

John Hack, age 93, of Haledon died Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Berkeley Heights Rehab And Nursing Center in Berkeley Heights, NJ. John was born October 15, 1920 in Bakanyjako, Hungary . He is the son of the late Joseph and the late Christina Hack. He came to the United States in 1954 and setlled in Paterson, NJ before moving to Haledon in 1960. He was a mason for Frank Revfi Mason Contractor, North Haledon, NJ for 30 years and retired in 1985. He was a parishioner of St. Paul's R.C. Church in Prospect Park, NJ and a member of the Haledon Social Club. He served in the Hungarian Army. He is survived by his son: John Hack and his wife Marie of Berkeley Heights, NJ, his grandchildren; Mary Kalwite and her husband Bill, Kelly Hack-Gallagher and her husband Jeff; , Maureen Hack, Clare Haas, M.D. and her husband Chris, John Robert Hack and his wife Katie and Joseph Hack. He is also survived by his great grandchildren; Noah Kalwite, Jonah Kalwite, Rosie Kalwite, Lilly Kalwite and Julia Hack. He was predeceased by his wife Maria Hack (nee Krautheim) and his sisters; Elizabeth, Maria, Christina and Francesca. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 21 at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 286 Haledon Avenue, Prospect Park, NJ. Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Visiting hours will be Monday, January 20 from 4-8pm.
