Obituary of Bonnie Pondelick

Pondelick, Bonnie (nee Lucas) on April 17, 2012. She was born in Paterson to Jacob and Betty Lucas. She Grew up in Little Falls. and graduated from Passaic Valley High School. She married Frank E. Pondelick May 1, 1954. She resided in Clifton until 1960 and then moved to North Haledon. Subsequently moved to the Empress Towers in Paterson, Greensboro, NC and Davie FL. She received her Bachelors Degree from William Paterson College and completed her Doctorate (all but dissertation) from Rutgers University. She taught special education at School No.2 in Paterson, primarily deaf students, and also taught at the Paterson Kilpatrick School, School No.28, where she also substituted as a Principal, along with various other Paterson Public Schools. She was frequently called upon to translate for the deaf at court proceedings, public meeting and church services. She also taught reading at Passaic County Community College. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in North Haledon and a leader in the North Haledon PTA, a member of the NEA. Beloved wife of the late Frank Edmund Pondelick. Devoted mother of Frank Pondelick, Lynn Hutson and Marty Pondelick. Dear sister of George and Robert Lucas. Loving grandmother of William Franklin and Lauren, Allison, David and Michele Pondelick. Cherished great grandmother of Addison and Keith Franklin. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 2-4 PM .
