Obituary of Anthony O. Vanone

Anthony O. Vanone, age 90, of Manahawkin died Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Anthony was born January 11, 1922 in Italy . He is the son of the late Battista and the late Pierina (Vanone) Vanone. He came to the United States as a young boy and settled in Paterson, NJ and lived in Rochelle Park bfore moving to Haledon in 1942 and lived there until 2001. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a still man at Steppan Chemical, Maywood, NJ for 42 years and retired in 1984. He was a member of Pipe Fitters and Steam Fitters Local no. 270, Ridgefield, NJ and the Mineralogical Society of Paterson. He is survived by one son: Ronald Vanone and his wife Kathryn of Manahawkin, NJ and his grandchildren; Robert and Valerie Vanone. He was predeceased by his Wife, Vera Vanone (Rolando). Burial will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Visiting hours will be Friday, February 10 from 5-8pm and Saturday, February 11 before leaving for the cemetery from 10 am - 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
