Obituary of Janice Kruck

Janice C. Kruck(Nee Gardner), age 78 of Haledon passed unexpectedly at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson on February 22, 2023, with her family.  Predeceased by her mother Martha and father John and her beloved brother Jack.  Loving mother of Arnold D. Kruck and his wife Allison of Fredon, NJ, and Donald F.  Kruck and his wife Dana of Queen Creek, Arizona.  Devoted grandmother to Julia, Elizabeth, Lara, Mikaila, and John and great-grandmother to Sabine. Born in Pittsfield MA she lived in Haledon NJ for over 50 years.  Janice taught for over 30 years between Manchester Regional HS, and Bergen Vo-Tech, and finished her career teaching at Passaic County Tech.  Janice’s love of animals her whole life also led her to own her dog grooming business at Yankee Poodle Dandie in Rutherford and Haledon for over 50 years. 

Janice was the most amazing mother, the best grandma, and a loyal friend.  Many will remember Janice for how deeply proud she was of her beautiful family.  Her kindness, enormous heart, her giving spirit, and her compassion, and willingness to always put everyone before herself. 

Some of her favorite things to do were spending time with her family, gardening, feeding the birds, canning tomatoes, cooking, baking, making rice krispie treats for her grandkids, watching and cheering on her grandchildren at their various sports and activities, and taking summer trips to Maine. 

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Father Johns Animal House in Lafayette NJ or O.S.C.A.R. in Sparta NJ as Janice had such a strong love of animals.  We will have a celebration of mom’s life for her later this Spring.
