In Loving Memory of Mark Elias Bitar
Mark Elias Bitar, 80, of Clifton, NJ passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Damascus, Syria and came to the United States in 1959 where he settled in Paterson, NJ. He has lived in Clifton since 1980. He was the owner of Wuvs/Billy's BBQ for over 25 years and then went on to manage a fast food franchise. He was a parishioner of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Little Falls, NJ where he was the past president of the Parish Council. He was also a member of the Clifton Masonic Lodge #203 Free and Accepted Masons.
Above all else his family was his greatest blessing and brought him the most joy and fulfillment. He enjoyed yearly family vacations in Wildwood Crest, NJ, making his famous corn chowder soup and billy wings, and ensuring the entire family cheered on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. Beloved husband of Mariette Bitar (nee Bazo). Devoted father of George and his wife Oula, Darlene and her husband Marwan, Nina, Rema and her husband Sky, and Mark II. Loving and adoring grandfather of Renée, Matthew, Emma, Christian, Layla and Elina. He will be greatly missed and his presence will live on in our hearts forever.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 10th at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 237 Long Hill Road, Little Falls, NJ at 10 AM, Interment at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church on Wednesday, November 9th from 5-8 PM.
