Anthony Aro, age 91,of Haledon died Friday, October 1, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital And Medical Center of Paterson, NJ. Anthony was born October 16, 1918 in New York, NY. He is the son of the late Carmine and the late Marie Theresa (Cucco) Aro.
He served in the Army during World War II. He was a carpenter forUnited Brotherhood Of Carpenters And Joiners for 35 years and retired in 1983.
He is survived by one daughter: Patricia Holden and her husband Tom of Long Valley, NJ and one son: Robert Aro of Haledon, NJ; ; he also has four grandchildren; Tracey Ann Preblick, Shawn Thomas Holden and his wife Jennifer and Jeffrey Brian Holden and his wife Kristen. He is also survived by his great grandchildren; Shannon and Kasey Preblick.
He was predeceased by his wife Laura and his brothers; Louis, Dominick and Albert Aro.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on at St. Michael's R.C. Church, , Paterson, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa on Monday, October 4.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, October 3 from 2-5 pm at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ.
