Obituary of Concetta Avolio

Concetta "Curly" Avolio, age 96, of North Haledon, NJ died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Hospice Of New Jersey of Wayne, NJ. Concetta was born February 22, 1914 in Santa Croce Camerina, Sicily, Italy . She is the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Mary (Iozia) Balistrieri. She lived in Paterson, NJ most of her life before moving to North Haledon in 2000. She was a Homemaker. She was a former parishioner of St. Gerard's R.C. Church in Paterson and a parishioner of St. Paul's R.C. Church in Prospect Park, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband Michael J. Avolio and a brother Sam Balistrieri. She is survived by a daughter: Angela K. Finamore of North Haledon, NJ a son: Michael A. Avolio of Hillsborough, NJ; her sisters: Sr. Lucy Balistrieri, F.M.A., Rosalie Ricci , Sally Thomas and Josephine Magee, her brothers: Thomas Balistrieri and Anthony Balistrieri , her grandchildren; Elisa Kolenut, Martin Kolenut, Dawn Parlegreco, Kristen Redmond and Michael G. Avolio and ten great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 am on Monday, June 28 at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 286 Haledon Avenue, Prospect Park, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Visiting hours will be Sunday, June 27 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ.
