Obituary of Josephine Bastante

Josephine Bastante, age 84, of Wayne formerly of West Paterson died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Lincoln Park Renaissance Rehab & Nursing Center of Lincoln Park, NJ. Josephine was born March 2, 1926 in Floridia, Sicily, Italy and came to the United States in 1955 and settled in Paterson before moving to West Paterson in 1965. She has been a resident of Wayne for six years. She is the daughter of the late Francesco and the late Concetta (Rizza) Modesti. She worked at Fanback in Paterson, NJ as a Seamstress for 20 years and retired in 1977. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson, NJ. She is survived by three daughters: Josephine Emolo and her husband Stephen of Wayne, NJ, Tina Vatrano and her husband Paul of Lincoln Park, NJ and Diane Grimes and her husband Joe of Pompton Plains, NJ and two sons: Carmen Bastante of Lincoln Park, NJ and Frank Bastante and his wife Sylvia of North Caldwell, NJ and her sisters; Nina Carubba and Lina Augello. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Paolo Bastante and a brother Nannino Caramma. Funeral Liturgy will be on Friday, May 14 at Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson at 9:30 am. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
