Mercedes Acosta (née Miranda) 94 of Hawthorne, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2018. She was born in Lares, Puerto Rico. She was a machine operator at Oxford Plastics in Paterson. Beloved wife of the late Jose Acosta. Devoted mother of  Hilda Montanez, Aida Ramirez, Ruthy Rodriguez, Irma Valentine and Pablo Acosta. Dear sister of Pura Miranda. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grand children and great great grandchildren. Service on Monday at DeLuccia-Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ at 10 AM.  Interment, Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Fair Lawn, NJ. Visiting on Sunday from 4-8 PM. www.delozito.com
