Obituary of Salvatore M. Polidoro

Salvatore M. Polidoro, Sr., age 94, of Wayne, NJ died Saturday, September 27, 2008. Mr. Polidoro was born June 29, 1914 in Paterson, NJ the son of the late Michele and the late Lucy (Pacelli) Polidoro. He lived in Haledon, NJ for 22 years before moving to Wayne 5 years ago. He was employed by Jersey Dye, Paterson, NJ as a Supervisor Of Maintenance for 50 years and retired in 1975. Mr. Polidoro was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson, NJ, Knights of Columbus Council No. 6805, Dyers Local No. 1733 and the Italian - American Independent Club, Totowa, NJ where he was the chairman of entertainment. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret A. Polidoro (nee Gilberti), his sisters; Rose Schopperth and Caroline Cleary and his brothers; Frank, Vincent and Thomas Polidoro. He is survived by a son: Salvatore M. Polidoro, Jr. and his wife Carol of Roseland, NJ and a daughter; Gloria F. Zisa and her husband Joseph of Wayne, NJ, his grandchildren: Ronald Zisa, Timothy Zisa and his wife Erica, Michele Russell and her husband John and Michael Polidoro and his wife Donna, his brother: Angelo Polidoro and his sisters, Mary Scialla, Ruth Barabrise and Lucy Tedesco. He is also survived by six great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, Inc., 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ. The funeral will be Wednesday at St. Mary's R.C. Church, , Paterson where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Memorials may be made to Wayne Volunteer Ambulance Corps or the American Heart Association
