Obituary of Samuel Petrecca

Samuel Petrecca, age 95, of Prospect Park died Thursday, August 28, 2008. Mr. Petrecca was born January 9, 1913 in Brooklyn, NY and has lived in Prospect Park for the past 67 years. He retired from Curtiss-Wright Corp. as a Quality Control Inspector in 1975 where he worked for 46 years. Mr. Petrecca was a parishioner of St. Paul's R.C. Church, Prospect Park, NJ where he was on the Board of Trustees. He also was a member of its Holy Name Society, an usher, a Eucharistic Minister, a cub scout leader and a member the St. Paul Seniors. He also was a member of St. Pauls Knights of Columbus Council 6907 where he served as its Grand Knight. He was a former member of the Manchester Regional Board of Education. He was also a member of Elks Lodge No. 2111, Totowa, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife Anna (Pantano) Petrecca. He is survived by one daughter: Judith Lutjens of Prospect Park, NJ and one son: Samuel Petrecca of Bedford, MA. He is also survived by his sisters: Gloria Minnocci and Carmela Macaluso, his grandchildren;Susan Gardner; Cheryl Poor; Steven Petrecca and Dawn Fierro. And seven Great Grandchilden. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 10am - 12pm at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ. The funeral will be Tuesday at 12:30pm at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 286 Haledon Avenue, Prospect Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Paterson on Tuesday at .
