Iwan Sergienko, age 90, of Prospect Park died Monday, August 11, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Sergienko was born October 5, 1917 in the Ukraine and came to the United States on December 24, 1950 and settled in North Carolina. He has lived in Prospect Park since 1971.
He worked in the Body Department at Ford Motor Company, Mahwah, NJ for 29 years and retired in 1980.
Mr. Sergienko was a member of St. Michael's R.O. Cathedral, Paterson, NJ
He was predeceased by his wife Tatijana and his son William.
He is survived by six daughters: Vera Mayhook of Montague, NJ, Olga Aquino of Pompton Lakes, NJ, Antonia DeRuiter, Nadeschda Sergienko of Prospect Park, NJ, Luba Cahill of Franklin , NJ, Sofia Giordano of Winter Haven, FL and one son: Ivan Sergienko of Hackensack, NJ. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday, 2-4 PM at the funeral home and the Panihida will be at St. Michaels R.O. Cathedral, 52 Sherman Avenue, Paterson, NJ on Thursday evening at 5 PM.
The funeral service will be Friday at 10 am at St. Michael's R.O. Cathedral.
Burial will be in Novo DiVeevo Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY.
