Obituary of Carmela Emond

Carmela “Honey” Emond (née Laneve), 97, of Wayne, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Carmela spent 89 years in her hometown before moving to Wayne. She was the proud owner and operator of Connie’s Coiffure in Little Falls for more than 50 years, retiring in 2014 after a long and successful career. Through her warmth, talent, and dedication, she formed lasting friendships with generations of loyal clients.

A devoted parishioner of St. Gerard Majella Roman Catholic Church in Paterson, Carmela was actively involved in parish life. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, the St. Gerard Seniors, and numerous other parish organizations. Her deep faith and commitment to her church community were an important part of her life.

Carmela was the beloved wife of the late Leopold “Paul” Emond. She was also predeceased by her twelve siblings. She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, all of whom will cherish her memory.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Keri-Lozito Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, New Jersey.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Gerard Majella Roman Catholic Church, 501 West Broadway, Paterson, New Jersey. Please meet directly at the church.
Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, New Jersey.
