Dear Gloria, Ron, Tim and Family, I am so sorry I did not know Joey passed away . He always stopped to talk at TJ's and we shared countless memories about Paterson, and my dad, and the 'days back then', and we always hugged, and he was always Family. I am so so sorry . My heart and thoughts are with you and the family, such a great loss. Joey will not be forgotten. His exuberance for life, music and good times touched so many lives, brought joy to so many people, especially me. He was in my life as long as I can remember. I used to listen to that 45 'Bobby' over n over when I was a kid...and when I kiss her, and when I hold her,...so many really important life memories. Please know how much he means to me, and please accept my sincere and sad condolences . Hugs
Love. Jamie Parlegreco

Q: How did you meet Joseph?
A: I met Joe when he use to cut my mom's hair and then mine from about 10-11 years old and continued to get my hair cut until March of this year even though I really didn't need to be cut any longer at 57. He assisted me when I needed music for my Bar Mitzvah and then my wedding. He was just an amazing person and a great friend for most of my life. I found out today that he passed when I called and texted him for a haircut. I wish I had known. My condolences to the family.

It is with sadness that we have
Learned of the passing of Joey Zisa. Joey was a man for all seasons A humble , kind , caring man who appreciated life and recognized his potential and created along with his friends the EMERALD EXPERIENCE which will never be forgotten by those of us who grew up with it and his hair salon where he was responsible for training some of the finest hair stylists. His shoes will never be filled.
Rest in peace Joe. Your work here is done. You have left Gloria with many wonderful memories but heartache as well. May God give Gloria and your sons and family strength during this difficult time.

My condolences to the Zisa Family and friends. First time I saw Joey, he & the Emeralds had the old wood floor at the Lincoln Club bouncing up and down, I seriously thought it was gonna cave or that the room would just POP! Remember him saying at the CLUB CHARM one night, they were gonna do something new by the Beatles then went into ''Golden Slumbers . Carry That Weight . The End'' WOW! No small wonder why his band was regarded (for decades) as THE BEST BAND in NORTHERN NJ! Hollywood Joe's, Pasadena Pete's, Damascus Sam were all popular hair salons in PATERSON back in the day but Joey cut my hair at his Gentleman's Quarter's and he was pretty good with the hot comb too! "And... in the end-- the love you take is equal to the love you make." GOD BLESS YOU + JOEY + REST IN PEACE

Gloria,
Our condolences to you and your family on the passing of Joe.
We have many happy memories of Joe from Central High School. I vividly remember being in Italian class with you and Joe and you telling me that you were dating each other. When we think of him, we remember he was always smiling and laughing with a twinkle in his eye.
For years after high school, Harry and I followed the Emeralds wherever they were performing, New Year’s Eve at the Wayne Manor and the many events at the Brownstone, I guess we were just “Emerald Groupies”. Also, Joe and the gang performed at my daughter’s wedding, no one else would do.
He was a good friend, and we will always think of him with fond memories as I am sure you will.
Hope you find strength in your memories.
Love, Nancy & Harry Dews

Gloria & Family,
To know Joe was to love Joe. He was such a kind soul, who was blessed with many talents. When my Grandmother's (Rosemarie) health started to decline and she could no longer get out of the house, Joe made sure to come by and do her hair at home. Making her look and feel beautiful gave my Grandmother joy when she was feeling her worst. I always loved running into Joe and enjoyed our many conversations. His absence will certainly be felt, but his legacy will live on. May he rest in eternal peace. Keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

He would often cover his her, when singing it .If I was there I would do that also,to get a laugh out of him. There are just to many memories to list.
