Obituary of Robert M. Sola

Robert M. Sola, Sr., age 78, of, Haledon died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. Robert was born July 17, 1935 in New York, NY. He is the son of the late Emil B. and the late Margaret (O'Reily) Sola. He lived in North Bergen, NJ before moving to Haledon in 1970. He retired in 1982 from Cormett Fowarding, Jersey City, NJ where he worked for 35 years as a Truck Driver . He was a very active parishioner of St. Gerard's R.C. Church, a member of Teamster Local No.560, Haledon P.A.L. and a scout leader for Boy Scout Troop No.20 at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church. He is survived by his four sons: Arthur Sola and his wife Lisa of Sylmar, CA, Robert M. Sola, Jr. of and his wife Stephanie of Prospect Park, NJ, Ronald Sola of Haledon, NJand Glenn Sola and his wife Erin of Denville, NJ; his brother: Kenneth Sola, Sr. of Abell, MD and his grandchildren. granddaughter, Rachel Louise Sola; grandson, Brandon Robert Sola and grandson, Robert Theodore Sola. He was predeceased by his wife Louis Sola (nee Venticinque) and his brother, Arthur Bernard Sola. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 am on Saturday, March 1 at St. Gerard's R.C. Church, Paterson, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Visiting hours will be Friday, February 28 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, www.myasthenia.org or the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.
