Biography
Carmen Roca, age 85, of Ringwood died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ. Carmen was born August 29, 1926 in Paterson, NJ. He is the son of the late Pellegrino and the late Margaret (Damiano) Roca.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a Stationary Fireman for Dyers Local 1733 in Paterson and also served as its business agent and retired in 1994. He was a member of the Riverside Vets and a parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Pompton Lakes, NJ.
He is survived by his daughter: Judy Wagner and her husband Chris of Ringwood, NJ; his sons: William Roca and his wife Joyce of Flanders, NJ and Nick Roca and his wife Joann of Wanaque, NJ and his brother Joseph Roca and his wife Mary of North Haledon, NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Kristie Guardascione and her husband Sal, Jenny Roca, Marc Roca and his wife Rene, Cari Jurgensen and her husband Ryan, Megan Roca, Martha Wagner, Olivia Wagner and Desmond Timothy and his great grandchildren; Lucia, Ava, Amelia, Owen and Emma Jo.
He was predeceased by his wife Adele Roca (nee Perna) this past April 24 and his sister Virginia (Jean) Malvano and her husband Nick.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Thursday, January 12 at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 11 from 4 - 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gianna's Education Foundation, Gianna Garling, 20 Druid Lane Hamburg, NJ 07419.

Oh Pop...Happy 2 months in Heaven. With every day that passes, you are missed more and more. There are so many reminders of you that bring us comfort in knowing that part of you is still with us. Happy 3 months in Heaven!! Oh Pop, I can't believe neither you nor Gram were with us this Easter. Our holidays will for sure be forever changed without you but I think Easter will be the biggest reminder that neither of you are actually there.
