Biagio "Ben" Joseph Bennardi, age 82, of West Orange died Saturday, February 27, 2010. Biagio was born May 26, 1927 in Danbury, CT. He is the son of the late Vito and the late Antoinette (Petresa) Bennardi. He lived in Paterson, NJ most of his life.

He served in the Army during World War II in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his valor. He also served in the National Guard. He was employed by Marcal Paper, Elmwood Park, NJ as a Truck Driver for 30 years. He was a member of the Sons of Italy in Tuxedo Park, NY and the VFW in Fair Lawn, NJ. He was a former parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, Paterson, NJ.

He was predeceased by his wife Rose Ann Bennardi (nee Belmont).
He is survived by two daughters: Valerie Hart and her husband Kenneth of Andover, NJ and Phyllis Wramage-Walczak and her husband Stanley of West Milford, NJ. He is also survived by a granddaughter; Abbee Joan Bradsema and his grandsons, Thomas and Paul Wramage and a great granddaughter, Hazel River Brandsema.



The funeral will be held 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 2 at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ.

Visiting hours will be Monday, March 1 from 5 - 8 PM at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ.
